The Food Bank, Inc. provides a variety of services/programs to Statesboro, Bulloch County and surrounding areas:

Emergency Assistance

The Food Bank is filling the time gap between the applications for food stamps and receiving food stamps.

    • Bulloch County residents that qualify for food stamps.
  • A referral from one of the following agencies must accompany recipients, in person, to the Food Bank:
    • Department of Family and Children Services (DGACS)
    • Concerted Services (CSI)
    • Area Christians Together in Service, Inc. (ACTS).
  • What documents should I bring?
    • Recipients must bring Proof of Residence, Photo ID-matching client’s name, ID for children-Social Security card or insurance card.
  • Hours?
    • Open Monday thru Friday between 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • What will my family receive?
    • A week’s worth of food for each family member.

Brown Bag for Seniors

  • Who is Eligible?
    • Bulloch County residents, 62 yrs old and older and meets the USDA income requirements.
  • How do I sign up?
    • Seniors must pre-register in person, a scheduled date and time for food pick-up will be given to Seniors.
  • What will I receive?
    • Canned goods, frozen meats, breads and other items.

Nutrition Classes

  • Who is Eligible?
    • Bulloch County residents, receiving services from the Food Bank Programs.
  • Class are every 4 to 5 weeks at the Food Bank, by Rebecca Larson, Clinical Instructor of Nutrition & Food Services, from Georgia Southern University.  Maximum enrollment is 30 people.  Attendees will receive a bag of food for participating.

Feeding Statesboro

  • Thanksgiving Meals are prepared by many volunteers for carry out and home deliveries.
  • Who is Eligible?
    • Bulloch County residents, Family members must pre-register in person prior to Thanksgiving.

Mobile Food Pantry

Around Spring and Summer time about 30,000 pounds of food is distributed to over 500 families from Second Harvest of Savannah.  Watch for upcoming dates, times and locations.  Call 912-489-3663 for more information.
